Happy Valentine’s Day | How did Valentine’s Day start?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is one of the biggest festivals in the world. On this single day, chocolates, flowers, and cards generate billions of dollars in business worldwide.

How did Valentine’s Day start?

Eight to two thousand years ago, there was only one superpower in the whole world, called the Great Roman Empire.

Roman Empire

As soon as this empire reached the peak of its power, Allah Almighty sent His Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).Allah gave Hazrat Isa (AS) this miracle: if Hazrat Isa (AS) touched any sick person, that person would recover. That is why everyone started liking Hazrat Isa (AS) very much at a young age

When people began to gather to see Jesus, Jesus began to expose the Jewish scholars of the time, and people began to take great interest in what Jesus said. But because of these things, Jewish scholars became the greatest enemies of Jesus (peace be upon him), after which all the Jewish scholars sat down and started thinking about how to save themselves from Jesus (peace be upon him).

But Jesus (peace be upon him) was not afraid of all this, but even in such difficulty, he made a dangerous decision that now Jesus (peace be upon him) would not go to the small towns of Palestine but to the capital of Palestine, Jerusalem, and there he would challenge the Jewish scholars. Jesus (peace be upon him) went to Jerusalem, and on the way he met thousands of people who went to Jerusalem with Jesus (peace be upon him).

When Jesus went there, he was very surprised to see that the Jews had turned Jerusalem into a bank, not a place of worship. When Jesus saw this, he became very angry and immediately ordered all the tables there to be torn down and all the bankers to be driven out of Jerusalem.

When the Jewish scholars saw this whole incident with their own eyes, they realized that they could no longer tolerate Jesus

All these Jews, together with the Roman Empire, began to conspire to kill Jesus (peace be upon him), but at that moment, Allah Almighty saved Jesus (peace be upon him), and the Jews began to understand that now Jesus (peace be upon him) had been saved and the world would forget Jesus (peace be upon him).

But 11 lovers of Jesus began to spread his religion throughout the world. Slowly, within a few years, Christianity began to spread very quickly, and many people left other religions and became Christians.

Soon, the emperor of the Roman Empire began to fear that if everyone started becoming Christians in this way, our religion would end. To stop all this, the emperor decided to kill all the Christians. After which the Roman Empire started using its power to oppress the Christians. As time passed, this oppression started to increase even more.

Finally, after 200 years, a new king sat on the throne of the Roman Empire. This king was different from all the other kings because this king did not sit on the throne because of his father but because he was a common soldier, and before becoming king, he was the greatest wrestler in Rome.

As soon as this man became king, he first started killing those who rebelled against him, but even after such a large army, the king noted that the army of that time was not fighting with the spirit the king wanted.

When the king asked why this was, he was told that there were more young soldiers in our army. As soon as these boys got married, their fighting spirit disappeared.

After which, it is said in Christian history that the king banned the marriages of young boys. By placing sisters at marriages, the speed of the Roman army increased, but the people there began to hate their king because after the ban on marriages, immorality began to increase greatly in the Roman Empire.

The hard work and sacrifice of Sand Valentines

Just as immorality was at its peak, a Christian man named Saint Valentine said that this role of the king could no longer be tolerated.

After this, Saint Valentine secretly arranged marriages for young people from his kingdom. As soon as people found out, people started coming to Sand Valentine. Similarly, Sand Valentine started a campaign against the king alone.

Gradually, so many people got married that the news somehow reached the king. Finally, the king ordered that whoever this Saint Valentine was should be caught and brought to him. After that, the Roman army spread everywhere, and finally Valentine was arrested. When Valentine’s followers came to know about this, they were very sad, but the people could not do anything against the king.

After which people started a tradition that has persisted in the world to this day.

Every day, as long as Sand Valentines was in jail, those whose marriages Sand Valentines had arranged would leave flowers outside the jail. After being in jail for a long time, finally Sand Valentine’s last day had arrived, February 14th.

The day before his death, Sand Valentines wrote a letter to a girl, ending with the words “From Your Valentines.”

The very next day, Saint Valentine was brutally killed, and from here a new festival was born in the world, which is still celebrated on February 14th.

This story was written by gathering all the information. I didn’t add any words of my own.
